snoopy lives his life the way l do

This is my attitude to life . Despite all the crap that is going on, has already happened, or may happen sometime soon, it's not worth worrying about, so enjoy it!
I used to love reading the Charlie Brown / Peanuts books when l was a kid (obviously l still have my old books), so maybe this is where l got my attitude from.

working through problems

I didn't make this, but it sums up my attitude to problems perfectly.

how to lead your life - alejandro jodorowsky

Confused about how to lead your life? Not any more!
Here are the 82 Commandments of Alejandro Jodorowsky. I don't agree with all of them, but he does talk a lot of sense.

martin minton - ken pyne

The story of a poor man's struggle through life, Ken Pyne's Martin Minton is depressed, suicidal and boring. He meets a woman, gets married, gets feted and famous, gets divorced (again), gets married (again) and divorced (again). What is the point of anything?
He eventually settles down in the country with a new woman, but is he happy?
A bleak look at life and family, but a clever idea with some valid points.
The boy did good.

indiana state fair disaster

Just been reading about the Indiana State fair disaster this morning and saw the video above. It's amazing how lives can be changed so rapidly, sometimes when you are least expecting it.

joel burns - it will get better

Joel Burns is openly gay city councilman from Fort Worth in Texas. Christ on a bike, l don't even know why l watch so much strange stuff, but sometimes l wish l hadn't. l am not gay (and there's nothing wrong with being gay either), but l cried like a little baby watching this, nearly as much as l do watching important football matches. Great stuff, but l may have to stick (literately) to porn and music in the future, l can't handle these proper emotions.

updates with life in general

I just feel as though I am slowly getting back into the swing of things at the moment. Although I was only away for a week at work, it has been all go since then, learning about my new job (yawn). Went out and about in Richmond on bank holiday Monday, which was also the FPO's birthday, therefore a lot of ale was taken. Since then I have been at work, dealing with the aftermath of the death of the person I was visiting in hospital before the holiday. She died on Thursday morning, so there have been things to sort out at work for her (death certificates, freezing bank accounts, seeing undertakers etc). Also had a visit from Louise and Dazzer on Friday so more ale was taken as it's the only way I can tolerate them (only joking!). Had work again on Saturday, then relaxing properly for the first time tonight (when even more ale was taken, a couple of bottles of scrumptious Merlot). Thankfully I am only working on Thursday afternoon this week, although I do have to attend a meeting in Harrogate on Wednesday, which should only take an hour or two. The grass shall be cut, the weather shall be sweet (I hope), and I shall chill out and do my usual crap. That reminds me of something. When I was out and about on bank holiday Monday, I must have said to someone I had not read Mark E Smith's book (from the Fall), as it has since been thrust through my letterbox (ooeer!). I really do not have a clue where it has come from (apart from the letter box), and it may have been put through by someone who may just think I would like it (I'm thinking along the lines of Powlie). At some stage I will bump into someone who will ask me if I have enjoyed it, then I will realise who it is from. In the meantime.. a free book! Excellent!

Off to the hospital tomorrow for a heart monitor to be fitted, then it's ECG tests on Friday, followed by an appointment with the consultant. looking forward to it (if the old ticker holds out that long).

madeira

The TV has been showing a lot of the flooding and the clearing up of Madeira today. It all seems a bit weird, as I was only walking those very streets at the end of October last year, so I can actually relate to it more than other disasters. The bottom picture is what the drainage canals looked like when I was there. Obviously the others are when the floods happened. There's quite a bit of a difference, that's for sure.
Just shows how random life can be, I pity the poor bastards that got swept up in the crappy water and died. What a way to go (and so unexpected).
Might stick to open ground in the future. Mind you, I will probably get struck by lightning, or attacked by a camel or something. Sod it, think I will do the usual. Ignore the danger (unless it is really obvious), and go for it. No point in worrying too much, it gets you nowhere.
