me watching manchester united recently
It's been frustrating watching Manchester United recently (apart from the end of the City game), but at least there's now a relegation battle to keep me interested. When l've said l preferred football in the 1970's, l didn't mean l wanted Manchester United to go back to being as crap as they were at the start of that decade. Be careful what you wish for.

the church and paedo's
This just about sums up their attitude. I'm all for forgiveness, but if someone fancies kids, that is not going to change, the same as if they had a foot fetish. It's a lifetimes obsession.

respect to ian wright
As the Marcus Rashford saga drags on, no matter what your view on the situation, it's really good and decent of Ian Wright to come to his support. Well played that man.
my fire hazard kitchen
I foolishly starated sorting some crap out to re-do some rooms, and l realise now l should have concentrated on one room at a time, as my kitchen currently has boxes full of books, CD's and DVD's stacked in it, and the rooms in question are still a mess. Looks like l'll have plenty to keep me occupied when l am off work at the start of January. Yippee!

why cats are great
I can't have any cats at the moment as they would eventually eat my parrot, but l do love how grumpy they can be.

my fence is taking it easy
I didn't think it was that windy recently, but my fence thought otherwise, as it's now having a relaxing lie down for Christmas.
I blame God.

a new ball cock (fnaaar)
As my small outside pipe was dripping (fnaar) l had to call in a plumber to fit a new ball cock (fnaaar again), as there was no way l was going into the attic to fight off the spiders and do it myself. It cost £90 and l curse life in general when things go wrong, but it's much better than me crapping my pants in the attic (and probably not doing the job right anyway). Here's the offending problem. Cursed at and binned.
the rolling stones in the new mojo magazine
I've just received this through the post, and l must say, l love it. What a great cover photograph of a band at their majestically peak (The Mick Taylor years).

the spirited subtitles are rubbish
I've recently enjoyed watching the Australian series 'Spirited', with a sparkling performance by Peep Show's Super Hans (Matt King). In my view, the first series is better than the second, but the main gripe is with this abomination by whatever 12 year old is in charge of the subtitles. They've obviously never heard of Marc Bolan, but these kinds of things are important, and should be checked. Fetch my blunderbuss - l demand retribution!!

how rock / pop stars used to look
I don't know about you, but l always prefer to have my favourite pop stars looking like stars, and somewhat otherworldly, not looking like the average man on the street. I will however, give Harry Styles a pass, as at least he's been mixing it up a bit.
Man City 1-2 Man Utd Highlights
And as for Kyle Walker feigning a headbutt, it's not just embarrassing, it's part of the rampant cheating in modern football that needs to be stopped, including all the grabbing that goes on at corner kicks. Retrospectively ban him and others for this sort of behaviour and it will stop overnight. It's not difficult.

iron man looks a bit different
The first appearance of Iron Man, in Tales of Suspense #39 from 1962. Certainly a different look than later years. If only l had more money (and a bigger house). I'd buy loads of old comics like this (as if l haven't got enough).

upside down stormtrooper
This has probably been pointed out many years ago, but it's just come into my radar. A Star Wars stormtrooper upside down looks very friendly , or even creepier, depending on your mindset. Either way - l like it.

newcastle riverside old school advertising
Advertising as it should be, back in the day for the sadly long gone Newcastle Riverside club (the old one). From Viz comic.
nearly time for days off
I've been working hard (ish) but it's nearly time for some days off. To say l am looking forward to them is an understatement, and this will be me me tomorrow afternoon.
robert smith plant pot
This looks great, and if l wasn't such a lazy git, l would be painting my plant pots like this now.

steak cooking guide for my mate
I've a friend (Hello Robbo) who always orders steak when we go out for a meal, and like the knobhead he is, always ends up sending it back as it is always (in his bitter and twisted eyes) over or under cooked. I think l will laminate this guide and take it out with us next time, but l also know it will make not one iota of difference. Myself, the chefs, and others with us are long suffering, but my friend does have many, many issues.

manchester city imploding
What a turn up for the books the last few games have been regarding Manchester City. Absolutely no-one would have predicted so many loses in such a short amount of time, but it's been great, and l for one, am making the most of it, especially as Manchester United have been so crap recently. Being a football fan, you have to clutch at whatever substance comes your way.

where the cavern used to be
Liverpool's Cavern club in the late 1970's - reduced to a car park. This is obviously before Liverpool went Beatles crazy again and re-invented itself again as a Beatles tourist hotspot. Most people in the late 1970's were more interested in the present and the future, and Eric's was much more important a club as far as music fans from the area were concerned. That has certainly changed now.

sheridan smith's fanny
Well this is one hell of a review! For Sheridan Smith in Funny Girl, a mere nine years ago, but still a classic headline. They knew what they were doing.
