As usual l went to the local pub last night with high hopes.  Rather sadly, l was disappointed again.   Still - l'm an optimist, so better luck tonight!

I was watching the 2023 Finnish film 'Fallen Leaves' (as you do) and was pleasantly surprised to see a character reading a Finnish reprint of Superman #1, even if l am more of a Marvel Comics man myself. The more comics in movies the better l say.

I hope this is real, and if not - it should be. I think many in the Trump camp want people to become sick and ultimately die, as they look upon them as weak and of no benefit to their planned AI driven fascist society, and  l include the old and disabled. There will be too many people for too few jobs, and if you can't be productive, they would happily see you off to save money and stop any civil unrest. And they have the cheek to call themselves Christians.

This is where the spray painting leads.  Let's face it, it's not about pride in the country but demonstrating to 'illegals' that they are not welcome, all fanned by the usual suspects of the right wing press, lying Farage, and the complicity of the news channels, giving all of the above so much air time when other much more well attended gatherings and marches are ignored, Farage is never robustly challenged and his every utterance is treated like a sermon from the mount, and the other opposition parties with many more members of parliament are ignored. Where's all the 'concerned citizens' protests against Chinese, Australian, American or Ukrainian immigrants? The rich backers know how to stoke division and hatred so they can gain power and abolish laws and rights that will benefit them, at the expense of most of the dickheads who are currently doing the painting. No wonder l drink.

However, there are also many, many decent people out there, it's just that their voices are not heard enough. Well played Crystal Clean Windows also of York.

After a drive to Stockton straight after work to pick up more meds for Mr Parrot l arrived home to discover what l had been dreading  It's been a long couple of weeks, (at least) but at least l tried. He'll be missed (a lot), and at least he's stopped suffering, and he is now residing in the garden with the rabbits. What a great pet.

Much as l think Lucy Connelly has now served her sentence and should be allowed to get on with her life, l'm also waking up this morning to these sycophantic headlines and stories from the usual culprits who are trying to turn her into some kind of martyr and now a new narrative, Keir Starmer's 'Political Prisoner'. She's a nasty piece of work who was inciting setting fire to buildings with people inside at the height of tensions which could have turned even nastier than they did, and pleaded guilty under laws and sentencing guidelines put in place by the previous Conservative government, who also by the way, had no trouble putting migrants in hotels and deliberately slowing their process' down, but l didn't see protesters or the right wing press banging on about that then. Hatred is being stirred up and weaponised and it's going to end in tragedy, and to get back to Lucy Connelly, her post could have caused that.
