Here's some Tina Turner after her sad death today.  Can't say l'm much of a fan of the later blockbusters such as 'Simply The Best', 'I Don't Need Another Hero', 'Private Dancer' etc, although l was pleased she had escaped from Ike and made her fortune. However, l did love her earlier stuff, and would have paid good money to have seen them in about 1971, but even l'm not that old.

Primal Scream - Come Together (Demodelica)

I received the new Primal Scream Demodelica album the other day and am absolutely loving it.  Obviously the Screamadelica album is a classic, but it is great to have all these other demos and alternate versions out there in the ether as well. Reader, l liked it so much l bought the cd version as well, which is money well spent in my eyes. 

Now pass me my drugs, l'm heading back to the turntable.

This is a rare photograph that l don't want to see in colour, as l value my eyesight, and thing my retinas would be severely damaged if l did see a colour version.  Isaac Hayes in which l presume is his kitchen, but whoever's kitchen it is, they have gone that extra mile with the floral decoration.

Times and tastes were so much different back in the day.

There is a very large gap between these front covers of Mojo and Uncut magazine featuring Nick Drake on the cover, but they both look great. As l am a sad bastard, l am seriously considering getting this months Uncut (the middle picture), despite already owning it, as l have the subscribers edition further below, which may be a great photograph of Nick, but l'd like the two similar looking editions.

Once again, l need more money and a bigger house.

Well blow me down with a feather (Clever Trevor).  I always knew there were various photos of The Beatles proposed Get Back  album (later renamed Let it Be) on the EMI stairwell, but didn't realise the shots were done over two days, with The Beatles wearing different clothes. Later used as the cover for the 1967-70  Blue compilation (and the Get Back bootleg lp). Every day is a school day.
