gang of youths at the riverside

Enjoyed The Gang of Youths show at The Riverside last night, but l'm not that keen on the venue.  It's difficult getting a drink, the toilets are upstairs, and you have to squeeze past the crowd to get up there, and you can't see much at the back. Nothing like the original Riverside which was a great little venue, and sadly missed.

sweaty nonce flees england

As we are threatened with nuclear war, the sweaty nonces start to flee. Here's Prince Andrew heading for the airport yesterday (not).

covid tests

I've recently had Covid and was off work for 10 days as l kept testing positive and work with vulnerable people. Luckily it didn't affect me much and l was off with full pay, so all was good with me, but I was still amazed it lasted so long.

strange bookmarks

I buy a lot of books, and many of them are second hand ones from charity shops. Often there will be old bookmarks and bits of paper left inside, but a recent book had this photograph in it.

I now have loads of questions. Who is it?  Where was it taken?  How long ago?  Who is the cartoon figure? Do they want it back?  Do I look like a pervert if l keep it?  (I keep everything).

I wanted something to relax with and read, not a headache.

I obviously blame the Tories.

Boris on the frontline apparently. That is if the frontline is in Oxfordshire.
What a twat.

things could be worse

Things are certainly bleak at the moment, but at least we're not following Australian fashion from 1975.

two politicians - both twats

Both are comedy B'Stards, but the trouble is, only one of them realises it, and is a piss take.

two leaders wearing the same kind of clothes

One of these was a comedian who has become a heroic leader, the other is just a clown. Albeit a nasty, racist, lying, money grabbing, privileged, dangerous, authoritarian one.
Rather sadly, the twatish one is our so leader.

the new british rail logo

No doubt millions would have been spent during the design of the new British Rail logo, when any idiot could have probably guessed that they would go with gung ho Union Jack patriotism to go along with our upcoming fascist dictatorship, no doubt to the delight of our current crop of flag bothering buffoons stinking out our parliament.
Yawn.

old festivals and magazines

This is what it used to be like at festivals back in the day. Full of hippies and alternative folk, and not jam packed with upper and middle class day trippers. Obviously in my head l've romanticised what they were like and ignored a lot of he grim elements, such as crappy (in more ways then one) toilet facilities, but l would love to be able to go back in time and buy most of the goodies on offer here. These are the sort of people who first sold me 'The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers', and l've never been the same since.

The Band and The Staples - The Weight (FromThe Last Waltz)

Haven't seen  this for a while but what a great version of a great song. Mavis Staples is the standout singer for me, but all are magnificent.  It's also beautifully filmed - l've got a hunch that this Marin Scorsese fellow might go far.

this is leadership

I'm no fan of the Monarchy, but this showed leadership from the top, unlike  the bunch of self serving piss taking charlatans we have in power now.

Queenie must be fuming,  as l imaging she will have nothing but contempt for the current government, as she at least tries to do what is best for the country, rather than increase her own (very substantial) assets, unlike this mob.

The thing is, l don't just blame Boris regarding the recent revelations about the party he (yes he) tried to throw for 100 people last year while in lockdown.  It's good that the majority invited did not attend, with some thinking it was a joke, but this news is only being leaked now as someone has it in for Boris.  It should have been reported at the time by at least one of the many people who knew about it, including journalists and newspapers (but not The Sun, as they had one of their own). It's always been one law for the rich and powerful, with another one for the scumbags below them, but never as bad as this. The Met police have not been fit for purpose, and so far, the only person / patsy to resign has been the laughing spokesperson rehearsing the government's lies.

I've said it many times recently (see here just after the election) - Democracy is seriously at risk, both at home and in the USA, and whoever takes over from Boris when he is eventually kicked out by his own party will be more dangerous, as they'll be laying on the lies like a bad snake oil salesman, and the public will fall for it.

Also, at the time of the lockdown and party, deaths were about 300 a day, like now. Just as we are about to open up, live with it, and stop testing properly.

Manchester United are playing crap, l've got a bad cold (8th day today and not sleeping) and l am currently on 8 days at work without a break.

This wouldn't have happened with darling Harold in power (one for the kids)
