I've nothing profound to say about the Konstantin Korovin (1861 - 1939) painting 'The Great Boulevards in Paris' (I Grandi Viali Parigi) apart from l saw it for the first time the other night, and it makes me want to go back there, drink some red wine (and possibly some absinth), until l can view it like this myself. I actually prefer it to the similar painting by Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) with the same name (below it). Love it.
Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia

sorting through some posters
Despite it being a lovely sunny day, l've stayed indoors pratting about. One of the things l did was sort out some old posters, of which, there is a selection below. The Greek football one l liberated in Athens years ago, but have no idea who the teams are. The French one was liberated in Orleans after l had hitch-hiked there with an old girlfriend. Can't work out why some are the wrong way round, some of them are huge, and yes, l am a sad git with 4 ipods!

vanity fair moon landings / nasa at 40 special feature
As it's the anniversary of the moon landings, l thought l would stick these up - a Vanity Fair article around NASA turning 40 that l ripped out and have kept for the last 20 years. I amaze myself sometimes with my hording mentality, but l will now throw them away as l will now be able to read them online here, and probably elsewhere if l could be bothered to look. I particularly like the Buzz Aldrin photo - it just amuses me for some reason.

the passions - l'm in love with a german film star and hans albers
Currently my favourite record, which was playing a lot in the car on our return from Manchester Airport / Hamburg on Sunday.
The Passions - l'm in love with a German film star. We were wondering if it was about Hans Albers, who used to be (and l guess still is) a huge German movie and singing star, who was from Hamburg and is now buried there.
But it's not.
Here's The Passions
And here's Hans Albers - On the Reeperbahn at Half Past Midnight

recent work / holiday stuff
Some bits and pieces from the recent work trip to Fuerteventura at the start of February, including my reading material. As you can tell from the end photographs, the hotel was excellent and also empty - a great combination as far as l'm concerned.
It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it!
