Here's a photograph of George Orwell with his nanny in India. There's an interesting article by Raoul Peck about how George Orwell's relationship with his nanny when he was a child affected his outlook on life and how modern manipulation of the news and doublespeak is taking place and shaping our view of events in the present, which l highly recommend. My friends say l'm the least racist person they know (what an accolade!) but as a child l lived in Kenya and Singapore (as well as other places) so grew up among different races and cultures.
