george orwell and his nanny

Here's a photograph of George Orwell with his nanny in India. There's an interesting article by Raoul Peck about how George Orwell's relationship with his nanny when he was a child affected his outlook on life and how modern manipulation of the news and doublespeak is taking place and shaping our view of events in the present, which l highly recommend.  My friends say l'm the least racist person they know (what an accolade!) but as a child l lived in Kenya and Singapore (as well as other places) so grew up among different races and cultures. Plus l'm from Liverpool and it's in our blood. From The Byline Times - here.
