In breaking news, Robin Ince has quit 'The Infinite Monkey Cage' due to pressure from the BBC execs because of his personal views. Is this really what The BBC considers to be wise/  remember this when people say it is too 'left wing and woke'. It's become the opposite, especially when giving too many platforms for highlighting and  defending far right views and racist viewpoints, when they certainly wouldn't if they were from a black militant revolutionary party. We need to remember that people like Robin Ince and Gary Lineker re not the problem in these troubling times. Ince's full statement is below.

It's a little late and better than nothing, but Donald Trump should have been impeached way before now, and should actually already be imprison for numerous offences which l can't be bothered to list here (again), but there's still may too many people in Congress, The Senate, and government in general who have no backbone or are just clinging to power for powers sake (and the associated monitory benefits, legal or otherwise). The early warning signs of fascism were pointed out repeatedly as Trump worked his way through them, but people always (foolishly) imagined he couldn't be that bad (and corrupt) and follow his policies, declarations and disregard for the courts and the rule of law through. How wrong they were. As for Trumps recent statement's and release of his regime's policy towards Europe, Ukraine and The Far Right, it's been stressed time and time again that he is on Putin and other dictators sides and is trying to overthrow democracy in the USA and now openly in Europe. Organise and stand up to the fucker - appeasement never works in the long run, and at last Europe and the UK should realise he is not our friend or ally, and work together to oppose him. History is going to judge a lot of people (and organisations) very badly. Remember - these are the bad guys FFS!

I went to pick up some medication from Boots today and (foolishly as it turned out) thought the dispensary was closed for lunch. Then l glanced through a door that was slightly ajar and saw this going on (whatever it is).  I've been to New York many times, and it's a cliche to go on about how much it's changed and how moneyfied it's become, but here's the stark reality. This paint shop and the shop next door would have been part of the community and ran by working class people. The rent, 10 years ago, hit $20,000 a month, which no normal shops like these can afford. Hence the reason why they shut down, and are replaced by flagship stores or expensive housing, and Manhattan becomes a playground for the rich, while the workers commute in. London is lagging behind, and l've argued for a while that Liverpool will become the same. Good news if you own property on the outskirts of town as both will keep expanding.

Christ on a bike, Dr Feelgood were fantastic back in the day. I saw them on this tour and even hitchhiked down to Reading Top Rank to see them there (from Oop North), but it's funny how your memory plays tricks as l thought l remembered hitching back on the Sunday afternoon, thinking it was a Saturday gig. I guess l must have taken the Monday off work and came back then, as l was staying at a mates house in Wallingford. Anyway, it was well worth it., although l do regret being generous and giving my t-shirt away a couple of years later to a mate who really loved it.
