As the third book of the Uketsu series was about to be released a couple of weeks ago, l re-read the first two (Strange Pictures and Houses) and have just finished the third (Strange Buildings) which l had preordered. They are all intriguing and engaging, plus easy to read, but each one contains darkness and horror that slowly builds and creeps up as the stories evolve (as many Japanese prefer). All are worth reading, but l still prefer the first one, probably because it was so different and unexpected when l first picked up a copy with no prior knowledge in a charity shop.
