THE iconic picture
Following on from the last post, featuring colour photographs from the blitz, here are the iconic pictures of St Paul's Cathedral, taken by Herbert Mason (the main one from the roof of the Daily Mail) during the bombing of London in 1940. These are fine examples of when a photo can be more evocative in black and white. Classy stuff, and more information and photographs can be found here.
