After all the crap from Kemi Badenoch trying to blame Labour, this is so sweet.

Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia
Despite Reform 'Throwing everything at it', Plaid Cymru thankfully won the Caerphilly by election, while also giving a huge kick up the backside to Labour, who lost a seat they had held for over 100 years. Rather predictably, Reform (who had been tipped to win and backed by most of the press) received most of the attention following their defeat, with interviews galore and articles saying how well they had done, but in this brave new world that is to be expected. The main issue l am bothered about is how Labour react. The reason they kept seats like this is because of the Labour values of fairness and fighting for the less fortunate in our society. The more they try to pander to the right and appease Reform voters, the whole point of voting Labour disappears, so despairing voters may desert and go to Reform, and some will do if the policies are similar and they are bombarded by articles in the right wing press to do so, such as in this by election. On the other hand, most will flee Labour and head for parties that are not Reform or The Tories, such as Plaid Cymru in this case, or Liberal / Green in future elections, who at present are being more Labour than Labour themselves, and l speak as a (disappointed) Labour supporter. Let's hope they now see the light and come out fighting with a left wing agenda, make sure they get their message across, and call out the racism and lies behind the opposition on the right. However, l'm not holding my breath.
I'm not at all religious, and generally believe the world would be better off without any religion at all, as most religions have a lot to answer for, but if only there was more people willing to make concessions such as this, see the other viewpoint, and try to get along in a peaceful manner, the world would be a much happier place, and l commend these leaders for taking this step and trying to lead by example, even if both have multiple reasons for maintaining the status quo. Just don't get me started on why Camilla is also sitting there..jpg)

This kind of viewpoint by Polly Toynbee annoys me so much. It's OK for people who have had decent well paying jobs and now have private pensions, but the British pension is one of the worst in Europe and old people who may well have worked all of their lives are struggling, especially in winter. I'm not saying child poverty is not an issue, as it obviously is, but let's not be pitting two ill funded groups against each other, they both should have more money funnelled towards them, but tax the rich and punish the tax avoiders, both individuals and companies. There's plenty of money for a fairer system, but so much is in the hands of the rich, who do everything they can to avoid paying their share, as their wealth and profits increases every year. The full article is from The Guardian, and can be found here.

While this couldn't have happened to a more deserving person, l've argued before and l'll argue again, these attacks in prison shouldn't ever happen and shouldn't be applauded, no matter how deserving they appear to be. The last thing you want is prisoners, especially ones with long sentences with nothing to lose, deciding who gets attacked or killed, especially if it gains them notoriety inside and out. If people are sent to prison (for whatever crime) they should be safe, as there have been many cases overturned over the years where people could have (or have been) attacked when they were innocent, and the punishment of being sent to prison is to serve your sentence. As with school shootings, naming the perpetrators and handing them their warped version of fame just encourages copy cats.
It's OK for Hippos, but l tried this on Wednesday night at our usual get together in the local pub, and trust me when l say this, it did not go down well.
Despite Donald Trump lying again and saying The White House would be untouched by his new ballroom plans, this is the truth. The thing is, if he decided on a whim to bulldoze the rest of it, who would stand up at the present time and stoop him? I would predict nobody, and that is a very unpleasant thought and a new reality people have been taking too long to recognise.
Once again, l don't see any protests by liddle timmy and his crew who supposedly want to 'protect women' (when it suits them). Then again, this is a white man, so obviously they're not bothered.
This - All day long. He shouldn't be a prince, and he should be facing trial. One law for the the rich etc..
How have l not seen this before?? A few years ago this could have been my bible. Luckily l have now found God (not).
Really? FFS. Trump leads by aiming for the lowest common denominator and others inevitably follow. What a time to be alive.
I've posted this before but it's always worth a repost. This is what Antifa used to look like - Captain America (on the good side) fighting Adolf Hitler (a Fascist on the bad side). I can't believe l even have to explain this, but in todays America and the world wide social media platforms spreading hate and disinformation through targeted algorithms, unfortunately you do. No wonder l drink.
Toodle pipI can see no flaw with this, and it's cost effective, although l would add more Coke if l was in charge. A launch l would travel many miles to see.

Another Trump in King mode cover (please tell me that him 'saving democracy' was a piss take). Rush on the other hand, had the right idea (and l include the UK).

I don't hate all the Donald Trump front covers he gets. Here are a few examples of ones l actually like.

I'm all for the 'No Kings' protests, but being the cynic that l am, l wouldn't be surprised if government troublemakers infiltrated the peaceful protests to cause trouble, Trumps goons to move in (violently) and Trump using it as an example of insurrection and lawlessness in America to further his authoritarian agenda. Fingers crossed for everyone.
By the way - the top cover mockup was actually put out by The White House, hence the 'No Kings'.
Our local in Hamburg has the right idea regarding Nazis. They are also very onside with supporting Antifa in whatever form that takes, and let's just say the AFD and Donal Trump (plus all the other right wing parties) are not popular, so all good as far as l'm concerned. Pop in for a cheap beer if you're ever in the area.
Toodle pipHow very dare they! I thought that was my nickname. Mind you, this article is pretty old, so l guess l got it from Lou. In that case l am in excellent company.
Toodle pipI've decided to stop shaving until Farage and Trump speak some sense, but l've a strong feeling that I may have to wait some time. Also, watching the news has aged me - l'm only 21*

The funny thing is Eva Braun would probably be Nigel Farage's ideal woman, after all, if she was good enough for Hitler....
