I'm old enough to remember The Strand on Stanley road, Bootle opening in 1968, and being ticked in there by Ken Dodd with his tickling stick (ooeer) shortly afterwards. It then became The New Strand and was tarnished by the Jamie Bulger abduction, and now it's being demolished. I hope serious money is going to be invested not just at the site, but in the area as a whole, as there's a lot of potential and some beautiful nearby areas (I kid you not). Liverpool city centre has become expensive, so businesses and workers are bound to head to the outlying properties, and this area is ripe for upscaling.

happy birthday to hannah the h bomb

 I had a drive out to sunny to Middlesbrough to drop off a couple of pressies for Hannah (my friends daughter) early this evening as it is her Birthday today.
