This will be me very soon listening to some of the political views in the pub.
And here's the local kids reaction when they see my outfit.

Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia
This will be me very soon listening to some of the political views in the pub.
And here's the local kids reaction when they see my outfit.

Haven't seen this on the TV, but l guess flooding in Bootle isn't as newsworthy as elsewhere (or maybe l'm just biased). This is Bulwer Street in Bootle, very close to where l used to buy American comics from in nearby Knowsley Road. My sympathies to them all.
Photos are from The Liverpool Echo - here.

We are all part of the earth together, made from space dust and intertwined. Now where did l put my acid?

This is not actually my old family home's living room, but it could well have been, and captures the old ideas of home refurbishment exactly (and yes, we did own that picture and cupboard).

This is an example of real rivalries back in the day when football was better. Manchester United versus Dirty Leeds (top picture) and Liverpool, with the top photograph featuring King Denis Law and Pat Crerand, ready for battle. These colours don't run etc.

I was expecting a parcel the other day and really looking forward to it (even more records). Rather sadly for me, it's gone on a bit of a road trip to the wrong depot in Derwentside, so the waiting continues. It's seeing more of the country than l have recently.
And if you're wondering what records, it's this bootleg box set. I'm salivating with anticipation.I was out and about last night and once again the issue of Keir Starmer supposedly deciding to not prosecute Jimmy Savile came up, as people are still convinced there was some sort of cover up by Starmer when he was head of the CPS, despite this being discredited many times. It doesn't help when people like the lying scumbag Boris Johnson deliberately spread these tales to score political points, as he obviously has no shame and a complete disregard for the truth. Below story (which features Johnson) is from the BBC, and can be found here.

What a knobhead Robert Jenrick is. Here he is (again) showing his ignorance of world events. The ICC have issued an arrest warrant for Putin, and Khomeini died in 1989. The Tory party, out of touch as usual. Imagine the fuss in the newspapers if a Labour politician posted this crap.

If my parrot dies, this could well be me in a few years, only surrounded by records and books.

Now this is what l call very good indeed. I remember it is somewhere in Scotland but can't remember where (and can't be bothered looking). Feel free to look it up yourself, while l put the kettle on.

At long last Ofwat are doing something. Much too little, and much too late, but it's a start. From Sky news.

How come l never get presented with awards like this? (Looks again) Oh........now l get it. What a load of crap. Abolish the monarchy.
As Andrew Tate joins Bluesky and manages to last a day before being banned, here's a reminder of a vaccination classic.

Bloody Hell, l must be rich!! I've got one of these next to my bed for emergency provisions. Someone telephone Sotherby's - l'll be in the pub celebrating.
Story here.

John Prescott had a many faults (don't we all) but was 100% a working class Labour man who loved the party, was a huge part of the 'New Labour' victories, but was unfairly maligned with the 'two jags' moniker, as though you're not allowed to treat yourself to a bit of luxury if you are working class but earning decent money. Sod that - if you earn the money, do what you want with it. He was also infamous for smacking a protester who threw an egg at him, but l have no issue with that, and would probably have done the same. We could do with more of his kind in politics and parliament now.

Of course entitled fuckwits like Jeremy Clarkson know no shame and will say anything to defend their position, however abhorrent. The BBC should never have him on again, but let's face it, that's not going to happen. The interview is here.
Poor mite. Pass me the worlds smallest violin. Thousands are using foodbanks, kids are going hungry, and the media churns out this sort of crap. Absolutely no sympathy.

Bugger! I Thought it was a bit easy buying my Oasis tickets. I really should have looked The small print.

It's been a couple of weeks, and l'm still waiting to see further news coverage of this Dispatches / Sunday Times investigation. Obviously it's been kicked into the long grass by the powers that be.

I'm a fan of Ricky Gervais, and think his 'Afterlife' series is one of his best. This clip, although cruel, made me laugh out loud when l first saw it. Perhaps l need help.

This is how a man about town who wants to ooze coolness should look. Bob Dylan at the peak of his magnificent powers.

A reminder of The Daily Mail backing Liz Truss. Reader (spoiler alert!) - it didn't end well.

This is me listening to the farmers on the news saying how poor they are.
And another reminder..

We were talking about these sort of covers in the pub last night. I guess it was cheaper to have a drawing rather than paying for a photograph, but some of the artwork comics used was atrocious. As an example, I present this Marc Bolan cover in Judy. Horrific.
This. All day long. Clarkson himself admitted he bought his 312 acre farmland for 4.25 million in 2012 because he wanted to avoid paying inheritance tax. Because of the likes of Clarkson and Dyson buying up farmland like this, it actually raises the prices of the land, which affects others inheritance taxes and means lower yields, so he should be the last person leading the protest. Of course the billionaires behind the right wing papers are on their side as it's a way of attacking Labour. Never forget they are only paying 20% (over 10 years) on inheritances over 3 million, which does not include the actual farms themselves. Rich knobheads. I also hope someone is checking if they are using red diesel on public roads, and remember, it's not a 'tractor tax', it's a rich landowners inheritance tax. Report it properly and lock them all up.
I hope if road blockages by farmers and / or right wing provocateurs do take place, they are given the same kind of sentences 'Just Stop Oil' protesters were given for blocking roads, but l very much doubt it. The rich land owning 'Farmers' can fuck off and should pay way more that 20% over 3 million on their inherited land. Obviously they have the right wing press on their side, but this affects hardly any normal crop growing / animal owning farmers, it's the rich, once again, trying to look after other rich folk (and their own interests).
Elliot Millar, this scumbag of a school sports / PE teacher drew a penis on a special needs childs face and has now been rightfully jailed. The Liverpool Echo states he never had adequate training, but that misses the point completely. What sort of training do you need to know that drawing cocks on kids faces is wrong FFS? Now I never went to the local secondary school near where l currently live, but a lot of my mates did, and the PE teacher there (since deceased) used to humiliate pupils by getting them to do (amongst other things) naked press ups in front of other pupils. Rather sadly, some of the ex pupils (who were usually good at sports and in the teachers favour) think this was just character building. I strongly disagree and have argued this with them, as you can imagine, much to their pleasure (not). It was a different world then, but there's no way l would have put up with it, and l'm glad to say my brother, who did go to the school, but was crap at most sports, walked out of school when the teacher tried to pick on him, and was left alone after that. It's not always easy, but stand up for what you believe is right. you sleep better at night.
