the urine powered generator

Are they taking the piss or what?
These four girls, Duro-Aina Adebola (14), Akindele Abiola (14), Faleke Oluwatoyin (14) and Bello Eniola (15), have produced a generator that can run on urine (One litre of urine gives six hours of electricity) which was demonstrated at the Lagos Maker Faire Africa.   Ingenious stuff, so they are either going to make a fortune, be ripped off, or be killed.   More information about it is here.

keeping the mixing old school

This is how they used to do the mixing back in the day. It shows that hardly anything is new, and most ideas have been tried before. It's a Gaumont Chronophone system, and dates back to 1910.
No, l didn't have one when l was younger. I know it's hard to believe, but even l'm not that old.

flying like a bird

Jarno Smeets, a mechanical engineer from Holland can fly like a bird on this contraption it has taken him eight months to build.
Everybody will want one now.

space age pool table on radiance of the seas

This space age self balancing pool table is on board a cruise liner (Radiance of the seas), and the clip shows it operating in rough seas.

Outstanding stuff - exactly what technology should be used for.

the isolator (or gimp mask) from 1925

This was invented in 1925 and is just what l could do with (being a miserable sod and all that). It's only an Isolator (with it's own oxygen!) that you can whack on your head and shut yourself off from the outside world while you get on with whatever you want to do and concentrate on it properly.
Looking at the top photo, it could also double up as a kind of scary gimp mask or punishment hood. I guess if you used it in that way, you could cut back on the oxygen for the full, unrestrained experience.
There's money to be made in this little beauty. Now if l could only find out where to invest........

a better and easy way to thread a needle

These type of needles have probably been on the go for years, but it is the first time l have seen one. What an excellent idea! Obviously (and despite my age), l have 20/20 vision and therefore have no issues when it comes to threading a needle. On the other hand, a lot of others do have issues with them, so this idea is top notch (as we used to say in the Air Force).
