richard tice - how the papers should look

The second post concerning Richard Tice and his tax avoidance. Can you tell l'm pissed off yet? This is how the newspapers should be reporting it, and also how they would if it was a Labour MP (like Angela Rayner).

imagine richard tice was a tory

Imagine the outcry if this was a Labour MP. The newspapers would be all over it until they were forced out. Obviously l expect Labour to have higher standards, but even so, the hypocrisy is staggering (but not unexpected).

Then again - remember his glorious leaders accounting?

the daily mail attacking wind farms (again)

It's good to know that as we head into a possible fuel crisis (or possibly World War 3) The Daily Mail have still got their priorities right, banging on again about wind farms, only this time conflating them with our anti missile defense systems. I remember happy days when this sort of headline would have been a spoof on 'The Day Today' or suchlike. What a joke and embarrassment the paper is. Imagine if we had invested heavily years ago and now had complete renewable energy? Heaven forbid the thought.

the ups and downs of watching the football when you're tired - plus when the cranes fly south by lisa ridzen

I finished work just in time to get home and watch the Manchester United game against Aston Villa. I made myself a drink and a toastie at half time, and the promptly fell asleep for over two hours on the settee, as l was pretty tired from reading till silly o'clock the night before (When the cranes fly south by Lisa Ridzen). Anywhoos, the game had an excellent result, and the book was also excellent. Very moving and l'd certainly recommend it apart from the fact I got a bit of dust in my eyes at the end.

Here's me celebrating the United goals.

Compared to me after the game.

wiping my arse with £5 notes

I'm not stinking rich by any means, but l'm prepared to make a sacrifice and stay in more so l can replace my toilet paper with £5 notes if Margaret Thatcher is on them. Not that this will happen of course, it's just the right wing being dickheads again. At ease.

a taste of things to come?

Earlier today.  Let's hope this is the last time we see an image like this in the Iranian (and surrounding areas) conflict, although apparently it is not a nuclear bomb..

elvis presley was 42 years old when he died

After the well deserved praise for the Elvis film last week from when he was at his peak, l was reminded today that he was only 42 years old when he died. At the time the concerts were certainly erratic, and he was often mocked for them (and his weight) in the press. As far as most people were concerned, no one cared about him, as he was considered to be a has been who was well past it, and an embarrassment to his younger magnificent self, which seemed as though it was decades before, but of course was only a few years previous. He still had  'the voice' but couldn't really move about and sing at the same time, and his records were mostly ignored or vilified until (like John Lennon), after his death. Looking back now, he needed people he could trust to say 'no' to him, and he died way too young. An American tragedy in one way, but Lordy Miss Clawdy, what a life he had.

Article reports are from here.

Plus there were warning signs in 1977.
