Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia

Thin Lizzy. What a band they were. Luckily enough, l was at the Reading Festival show (I am very old), and many more of theirs afterwards. Always a cracking night, although Reading was very very muddy.

Another day, another lie from the Conservatives.
Never vote Tory.

All the fuss at the moment about teenagers 'loitering' in parks and taking Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) wouldn't be so problematic if the bastard government hadn't closed more than 800 libraries, cut art funding by a third, local authority grants by 40%, closed Sure Start programmes, and sold off hundreds of playing fields.

Toodle pipNow this is my kind of festival! Primal Scream and The Jesus and Mary Chain on the same bill at Crystal Palace Bowl as part of the South Facing festival, both bands that l love. Looks like a trip to that London might be on the cards in the near future.

I was looking at at some old concert tickets (below) and in the comments section there was one from Russell who had nicked a sign from the Bob Dylan concert at Blackbushe in 1978. I wish l had thought f that at the time and to say l'm jealous is an understatement.

All roads can lead to heaven
But you think can show you the way
Moonlight can make a rainbow appear
But there's no pot of gold at the end
Cast your eyes down and listen
You'll find Heavens all around you
In the faces of strangers and the barking of dogs
And even the hum of the traffic on the dirty tarmac
Can transport you to faraway places
If you open up your mind and allow it to travel
Hell and Heaven are what you make yourself
So in this one lifetime we have
Choose heaven on earth
As a second chance is unlikely
And its best not to think about the other option
Nov 2022
With a love so deep
Ive got to keep it hidden
Where it's always been
Because I know
Its never enough
I cant help it
My love's always been
The way it is
But then you walked into the room
And I saw two shadows
Dancing with joy
Because we both know how love can feel
If we allow it
So if tonight's the night
I will give it all I have
Because I know in my heart
I could stay with you for ever
And as for my love
If I need to, I'd display it
Because we both know what it's like
To feel the fire of the night
And tonight could be that night
But Im afraid
That the cold light of the morning
Will soon come around
And the love will be hidden again
Untraceable
Perhaps forever

As we are approaching April, l may try to re-create Winston Churchill's drinking at Chartwell from April / May 1949. Obviously he would have had guests over, but even so... Wish me luck.
From the book 'No More Champagne' by David Lough.
A reminder - Boris Johnson has always thought the rules don't apply to him and and he is above obligation, constantly blatantly lying throughout his life, both in private and in employment, yet a gullible public lapped it up and voted for him as he's 'One of us'.
How low can Sarah Vine (until recently married to Michael Gove) go? This is just embarrassing, even for the Daily Mail and the governments sycophantic supporters (and that's saying something).
Never vote Tory.
If this is true, it's genius, and well played! I bow down to your pettiness and ingenuity!
The picture you didn't realise you were desperate to see. OK - I'll admit that pop princess Kylie Minogue isn't actually wanking off a teddy bear, it's just her microphone in an unusual position. But it certainly looks pretty funny, and she looks very happy about it.
Which reminds me. I'll have to dig out my old photo of Kylie with my hand on her bum, which highlights how tiny she is (and l don't have big hands).
Judging by these political leaflets by Conservative party candidates, you'd be forgiven for thinking that they were pretending to be Green party members, with no mention of them recently voting to allow the continued discharge of sewage into our rivers and sea (obviously). Where's their usual blue colouring?
Never vote Tory.
I wonder what attracted Ann Lesley Smith to the 92 year old multi billionaire? Cupid must be dancing with joy

Plus...More wastage of my taxpayers money defending an alleged bully who has got out of facing the charges by paying off her accuser. With money from us taxpayers, so it's not even affecting her.
This government are the worse I've ever known, and l remember the Margaret Thatcher years when her aim was to destroy society (and henceforth, the unions). Corrupt as fuck.
Never vote Tory.
Always remember - She is thick as shit, but happens to be backed by powerful hard right wing supporters in the Tory party and ERG.
After not eating much yesterday, and feeling pretty peckish this morning, this was my breakfast. How I'm still alive is a medical mystery.
I watched The Beatles 'A Hard Day's Night' film again a couple of days ago, and once again, I was surprised that they left in the John Lennon alluding to sniffing cocaine (with a coke bottle) sequence in. Then again, l guess they were much more innocent times back in the day (for the majority of the population).
Still makes me chuckle though.
Plus, thinking about the film, it's crazy to think that Paul McCartney is now 28 years older than Wilfrid Brambell was when he played his granddad in the film (58 and 80). Not sure if Paul is as clean.
