Two songs from The Harry Smith Anthology of American Folk Music, although the David Johansen one (Old Dog Blue) is from a celebratory tribute concert many years after the albums were released (in 1955). I'm a long time admirer of Mr Johansen's, from when he was with The New York Dolls and his various projects afterwards, but Son House wasn't exactly a slouch when it came to producing atmospheric and emotional music.
