Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia
Another excellent night out last night. Had a trip out to Newcastle with the lads to see The Cult at the City Hall, and they were much better than l was expecting. I hadn't seen them for years and thought their new material may have been crap, but happily l was proven wrong, and they were on top form. Double Jack Daniels and Coke all round!
A happy Halloween from Franny Craddock (one for the youngsters out there). The past was a different country.

I've just been sent some photographs from my brothers recent injury. He injured himself while on the first day of his recent holiday and has just managed to get his broken elbow / arm repaired properly back in Leeds, but plenty of metal was required. It certainly looks bad and he said it certainly hurt. That will teach him not to go chasing suitcases down steep hills again.
Think I've posted this before but it's worth showing again. An excellent statement and very true.

Had another outstanding time in Hamburg and managed to catch Jamie Webster there on Saturday night. A long haired scouser called Jamie entertaining everyone? What's not to like? Amongst many other occurrences, our local pub there also had a demonstration outside by the St Pauli fans before their game against Wolfsburg on Saturday afternoon, so that was also pretty cool, and many beers were drunk. We shall return soon.
This is where l will be this time tomorrow. My favourite bar in Hamburg's Reeperbahn, the magnificently seedy Tipell.

A reminder - the Tories were taking the piss, and Labour declared their freebies (which pretty much everyone famous or in power get). This is one of the many many examples l could have used, and that's without highlighting Boris Johnson's free accommodation, decoration, wedding, holidays and honeymoon, Covid parties or the VIP fast track lanes which they exploited. Bloody right wing press owned by offshore billionaire owners are responsible for reporting this crap and trying to shape the narrative, and should also be held to account. Bastards!!
This is how newspapers should report on Donald Trump, rather than trying to sanesplain his rambling incoherent and yet dangerous answers to ordinary questions. They rightly exposed Joe Biden's failings, but need to do the same to Trump. Hold him to account, because if he does manage to become president again, it may well be too late.
My mates family are from Sant Helena, although he has never actually been there himself. However, if he did visit, l would be tempted to go with him, just to tackle this stairway, as it looks like it would certainly get the old adrenalin pumping. It's a good job l'm not scared of heights, but it may be a test for my sad old knees.

Went to see Troy Hawke at Middlesbrough Town Hall last night and a most splendid evening was had by all. Much better than l had anticipated. Had a couple of ales in The Pig Iron beforehand and also got immortalised in the bottom photograph if you look closely enough. Ruddy marvellous!
A reminder that when Eldon Square in Newcastle opened, it was like stepping into the space age. Rather sadly, this is most certainly no longer the case.
Toodle pipSpeaking as a Labour supporter, instead of going after pensioners winter fuel money, let's tax the rich bastards instead. You know it makes sense.
I may well have posted this picture before, but l love it. It's a scary looking ant, and l praise the great god Keef that they are not a lot bigger.
I actually thought this was a spoof at first. What's happened to most of our press?#
And remember....

As the lying grifter peddles his latest work of fiction, never forget what he is at heart, and the consequences of handing him power.
What a glorious day to see a picture of Ken Dodd as a member of The Cure. However, once seen, never forgotten, and l'm speaking as a fan of both.
Toodle pipAfter much Birthday celebrations and my internet going down, it's now back to life being as close to normal as l can manage. To celebrate, here's the Northern Lights at what l know as Bootle Beach a couple of nights ago.

I live not far from Catterick Garrison roundabout, and the top picture is what it presently looks like. However, at one time, it used to have trains going through the middle of it (obviously on tracks). Not many small roundabouts have that claim to fame. it would be a nightmare these days with the amount of traffic it currently accommodates.
South Yorkshire police are looking for grasses. What usually happens is people report their fellow neighbours for earning a little extra money for doing tax free work while claiming benefits, rather than the rich being punished for their law breaking, as it's a different set of rules for them. Obviously I would never condone such behaviour, but for those thinking of responding, l have an example.
In news that will surprise no-one, apparently Liz Truss considered cutting Cancer Care to fund tax cuts after her and Kwasi Kwarteng's disastrous budget. I actually think she may have a mental problem of some sort (although she's being richly compensated).
A reminder that it's been a while since Jeffrey Epstein was imprisoned and 'Took his own life', and to date, the only person being punished is Giselle Maxwell. It's about time the guilty sex offenders who took advantage of the young girls were bought to court. Then again, it's not exactly earth shattering news that being rich and powerful (shout out to Prince Andrew here) can head off lawsuits that the likes of myself would have no chance of defending.
This nails exactly how l feel about most current celebrity news. Then again, l'm very very old.
On this day, Manchester United's first game back at Old Trafford after The Second World war. What The Premiership publicity machinery overlooks most of the time is that the appeal of football is mainly about it's history.
