I've said it before and l'll say it again, Status Quo used to be great. Mind you, the Aphrodites Child '666' album is pretty tremendous as well. Featuring a young Demis Rousoss.

Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia

I was in York yesterday for a training day, which as The Fast Show used to say, was 'Nice'. l've been working in Social Care for many years and know how underfunded and stretched it is, and as a result of this (and Brexit) about one third of the training participants were from Nigeria or some other foreign country, some of whom l have had the pleasure of working with. Exactly the people being demonised by the far right and their supporters, but 'send them back' and the whole system would collapse. I'm sad to say Labour are not coming across as appreciating them either, with the current long term visa plans being put forward for low paid workers. It's all one giant mess, and more money needs to be inputted.

OK - l know Southampton were spying and they deserve to be punished in some way, but to claim you were trying to keep tactics secret when you are practicing them on an open playing ground is absurd. Also, most clubs can't afford lush indoor (and private) practice pitches, so what's going to stop any would be 'spies' giving phones to children to record sessions? This way madness lies.
From the BBC.
Here's Middlesbrough's training pitch.
It's Whit Monday next week, and as usual, we will be heading to Richmond for our annual Bank Holiday Monday pissup. The weather forecast is certainly looking promising at the moment. Bring it on l say. Scorchio!!!
The top photograph is from a program about Houdini and was an example of extreme poverty in New York. The second one is me and our dog in our back yard in Bootle (although we didn't live in poverty).
Why Punk happened. This. Plus acts like Tina Charles and Brotherhood of Man having number 1 singles. The charts in 1976 were dross and we were desperate for something, we just didn't know what.

This is going to be an iconic photograph for the ages (by Nicole Hester). Republican Senator Justin Pearson barred from a special senate session in Nashville regarding redistricting.
Although l am all for rejoining Europe, this is also true, so Burnham shouldn't be getting grief for 'U-Turning'.
I agree with this. The government should have clamped down straight away with knobheads putting up flags along roads etc. Everyone knows the underlying meaning and it's completely different to having them on town halls or government buildings. Often funded by rich fuckers living abroad stirring up hatred and division and backing Reform.

Spud Murphy (the photographer) l salute you. Mind you, in Marc Bolan, he had one hell of a subject.

It's about time Labour started being socialist again, and stopped trying to appease Reform voters, but l don't think Starmer should be replaced straight away as that proves Reform to be right as they used the local elections as a 'get Starmer out' voting tactic, and fuck them.

Hibernation is over, and l'm waiting to be picked up for tonight's gig at Pealie's barn (in 10 minutes time). Should be good, and drink will be taken.

This treatment and the headlines sounds great, until you realise that Joe Tippens was the only person free of cancer after a trial involving 1,100 patients. I may well be proven wrong (not for the first time) but l'd imagine there was some other reason the cancer went away, something else not taken into consideration, or perhaps just being lucky and his body somehow rebelling against it as a freak occurrence. Who knows?
More on the research can be found at Anticancer research here.

An excellent but depressing map of the rise of the far right, with considerable backing from Russia. They have however, missed out Reform.

This. Most of the sycophantic media are too busy brown nosing to Trump and trying to maintain their press access rather than hold the child rapist and his cronies to account and back up colleagues that do ask pertinent questions or who are verbally abused or mocked by Trump, which just enables him more. Meanwhile the men who shot Renee Good and Alex Pretti are still being funded by taxpayers and are still at large. The president has bathed himself in violence and hatred and this is part of the consequences. Journalists - DO YOUR FUCKING JOBS!!!!
Meanwhile, in unrelated news....
