As a follow on to the last entry about the sad passing of Desmond (Doc) Morris, here are a selection of his paintings. I like them a lot and if l had more money and a larger house l would own some.

Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia

How l'll remember The Doc, an Oxford United fan and all round decent bloke, who rather sadly died a couple of days ago. Loved 'The Naked Ape' (amongst others) as well as his surrealist paintings.
If only l had been more into going to concerts rather than football matches (part 8465456465). Relying on pocket money meant l couldn't go to gigs and football, and looking back, l sometimes made the wrong choice, as l could have gone to Queen's Oxford New Theatre show on this tour with schoolmates, as l was living about 12 miles from Oxford at the time and could have got a lift with their parents. Instead of which (and l looked it up) I went to see Oxford United play at home against Portsmouth and Bristol Rovers on either side of the gig. Damn! Touring to support probably my favourite Queen album, and l also liked the support act, Hustler. I did see Queen a few times after this, but regret having missed out on the early tours.
Talk about excellent timing for a photograph! This is a one in a million shot (I'd imagine). Whatever the odds, it's very well played indeed by Dawn Denise Boyer.

If the state wants to ban them, then they must be worth a read. Time with a good book is never wasted.

My poor old eyes had the misfortune to see this, and now you've suffered as well. The very definition of a difficult wank. Happy dreams tonight.

I'm trying to sort the house out a bit but l think l may be having a bit of an acid flashback. There's only one solution. Pass the freaking drugs!!!!!

My friend and his family have just been to that London to see Paddington. I think it's fair to say that one of the children enjoyed meeting him more than the other.

I think the right wing press (in this case The Telegraph) are getting worried about the rise of The Green Party. Their rich owners are probably panicking about being held to account and being taxed.

The rather magnificent Tim Curry is the grand old age of 80 today. I may even give his album a spin later on to celebrate. He's the reminder that women may like men dressed like this...

We are insignificant little creatures in the great and vast cosmos, so try and do a good deed every day, enjoy your life while you can, and try not to harm anyone else. Sunday's sermon is now over.

Remember when skinny young lads wanted to emulate this fine young chappie, rather than the likes of Andrew Tait? The world doesn't always progress for the better.

Remember the days when American politics gave you hope? It could be that way again once the war mongering corrupt kiddie rapist soviet puppet and his lickspittle sycophantic enablers are out of power.

I've got two days off work and l've got an easy week ahead of me, so l'm just chilling out and taking it easy, hoping for a Manchester United win at Chelsea this evening. Wine and food shall be taken then.

I saw a picture of this book cover a couple of days ago, and was immediately transported back to my younger self, reading it for the first time and being blown away by it. I may have to dig it out and re-read it in the next few days. Hippie writing at it's finest, and l remember reading a few ore of his over the years. Hopefully l've kept them all together.

Another disappointing Wednesday get together at the pub this afternoon. I really need to lower my expectations.
What l hoped for.
The reality.

The Grand Canyon. It's big. Very big. If you zoom right in you may see me standing on the edge of it (after l'd stood on The Hoover Dam). My (now ex) wife was not impressed.
How my night progressed after the Leeds defeat. Rolling Stones bootlegs and two bottles of red wine helped ease the pain (plus some smoked sausage and cheese).
