This is a news article on Facbook about someone in Catterick Village being found guilty of having sexualised images of children on his computer.  I had an interest in the story as l work in the village, but rather sadly, despite the person being a white man, it didn't take long in the comments to blame illegal immigrants because 'prisons are full of them' (untrue). That's how mad this country is becoming / become, thanks to the constant 'stop the boats' etc from the right wing press and TV news items. Did anyone hear about there had been no crossings for a month (the lowest since 2018) until they reported a crossing today? Of course not. I'm old enough to remember the National Front back in the day, and foolishly thought things were getting better. What a time to be alive.

It's a little late and better than nothing, but Donald Trump should have been impeached way before now, and should actually already be imprison for numerous offences which l can't be bothered to list here (again), but there's still may too many people in Congress, The Senate, and government in general who have no backbone or are just clinging to power for powers sake (and the associated monitory benefits, legal or otherwise). The early warning signs of fascism were pointed out repeatedly as Trump worked his way through them, but people always (foolishly) imagined he couldn't be that bad (and corrupt) and follow his policies, declarations and disregard for the courts and the rule of law through. How wrong they were. As for Trumps recent statement's and release of his regime's policy towards Europe, Ukraine and The Far Right, it's been stressed time and time again that he is on Putin and other dictators sides and is trying to overthrow democracy in the USA and now openly in Europe. Organise and stand up to the fucker - appeasement never works in the long run, and at last Europe and the UK should realise he is not our friend or ally, and work together to oppose him. History is going to judge a lot of people (and organisations) very badly. Remember - these are the bad guys FFS!

 I've been to New York many times, and it's a cliche to go on about how much it's changed and how moneyfied it's become, but here's the stark reality. This paint shop and the shop next door would have been part of the community and ran by working class people. The rent, 10 years ago, hit $20,000 a month, which no normal shops like these can afford. Hence the reason why they shut down, and are replaced by flagship stores or expensive housing, and Manhattan becomes a playground for the rich, while the workers commute in. London is lagging behind, and l've argued for a while that Liverpool will become the same. Good news if you own property on the outskirts of town as both will keep expanding.
