Sometimes, you have to give up with parody and surrealism as normal life takes care of that for you.

Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia

Voyager 1 is now nearly one light day away from Earth (16.1 Billion miles), which helps demonstrate (as if we didn't already know) just how enormous (infinitely?) space is, and how this is such an impressive achievement by all concerned. Full article here.
You've got to put the hours in but even so. I was looking forward to getting back to work for Wednesday for a rest and then remembered l'm off to Blackpool for an overnight work thingie the day after, then a gig at The Cluny in Newcastle on Friday. It's a good thing l'm indestructible.

Let's face it - Farage is a racist. Always has been, and always will be. Now imagine if Keir Starmer had this past (and present). He'd be nowhere near parliament, and this is not exactly recent news, it's been known about for years, but Farage has had a free pass by most of the press.
Just about to head to the pub for the first of my usual twice weekly get togethers, and l'm pretty pleased with my new outfit. This will be me at the bar in an hours time.

There's no mention in this story of the EU funds which Gliwice is still receiving since Brexit, or the many years of Tory austerity which ignored places such as Darlington for years. Poland makes a point of involving regional towns when planning long term projects and making investments in those areas, whereas in England it has mainly been centralised around London and the south. There's a handy interactive map that shows EU investment in your area, which highlights EU aid to farmers around Darlington, plus plenty more around the area as you scroll down. As usual (and for good reason), blame The Tories, Brexit (in which Darlington voted to leave), and the right wing press distorting the truth and pushing Brexit (and now Reform) in the first place to sway the votes. The full interactive map is here.
Couldn't have said it better myself, although l'd have added attractive and not into crap music.

Poor people in foreign countries targeting poor people in the USA to hate poor people from foreign countries, but obviously backed by rich people (or governments) such as Putin and Russia. What a time to be alive.

I had absolutely no inclination to read the 'Wicked' book. That was, until l read this. That's how to sell a product!

This was me entering the pub on Wednesday.
This is some of the people l met up with. No wonder it can get messy.

The right wing press tighten their grip, as The Mail's offshore owner Lord Rothermere buys The Telegraph. What a time to be alive. Of course l can't imagine any biased reporting and articles praising Farage, and knocking Labour, Liberals and The Greens, often with fake stories. Of course the rich are going to protect their (offshore) money and interests.
Donald Trump, as usual, trying to broker a peace deal that gives Russia everything at Ukraine's expense. What has Putin got on him?
So it turns out Johnson, Hancock, Cummings and the rest of the Conservative's in charge of the pandemic are responsible for thousands of extra deaths, while crony's made merry with VIP lane funds. Non of this matters unless people are held accountable and punished, which l very much doubt they will be.
Here's what l wrote at the start of the crisis. I wasn't happy with the government then, and nothing's changed since. I'd also just been to the funeral of a care home resident l'd worked closely with for many years.

Christ on a bike! I wish my granny had stored some old comics in the attic. Mind you, the temperature in Liverpool might have affected the condition, as it's certainly not Californian, even at the best of times, so no matter what she may have stashed away, it wouldn't have been a grade 9, plus l wouldn't have been up there searching, as l'd be too wary of spiders. Once again - l blame God.
For some reason or other l find it fascinating and very relaxing looking at these old rock carvings from the far north of Russia, known as The Kanozero Petroglyphs. They're about 5,000 years old, so maybe it's an old message from my long forgotten ancestors. Whatever it is that draws me to such things, l bet they had a very hard life, that would be unimaginable for a softie like me in my overflowing cocoon. Pictures are from here
It must be a lot easier if you get up in the morning, do whatever you are doing with your day, and enjoy yourself in the evening, without really engaging with whats going on in the real world at this present time, politics wise. Rather sadly though, l'm not one of those people, so there are many things out there that get on my nerves (to say the least), including with The Labour Party, who l usually support. No wonder l drink. I blame God.

Everybody already knows that Trump is a misogynistic, bullying, narcissistic sex offender, so this will make little difference to his core base. However it does demonstrate that if he's prepared to put down women like this in front of the media, imagine how he treats them behind closed doors.
Despite the fact that John Lennon has his eyes closed, this is still a great photograph.

How many years ago FFS? A great gig and l got to go backstage with The Heartbreakers but as was the case in those days, never had a camera with me and got no autographs.
