turned to stone by the ex wife

Now it all makes sense why l spent 5 years standing in my garden after my wife buggered off.  I just thought l was depressed.

a artificial solar powered plant that purifies radiation?

About time there was some good news. A solar powered artificial plant that can purify radioactive soil?  Well played you boffins!  Bring it on!  More information is here.

andy burnham's labour leadership challenge and the silver surfer

I like Andy Burnham a lot and do thing he'd be a good Labour leader, but this is excellent (and l love The Silver Surfer).

Of course!  It was so obvious!! Release the Epstein files!!

the bbc still slagging off labour

I know l'm biased as a Labour supporter, but l'd have thought that with all the screen time the BBC give to the Reform party, it's a bit strange the story about their ex leader pleading guilty to taking Russian bribes is deemed so unimportant. That should be leading the news, and let's face it, he won't be the only one taking Russian bribes. It's like The Tories were still in power.

the classic t.rex line up and a classic steve currie quote

This here ladies and gentlemen, was a band. A hell of a band, and l wish there was someone like them today. Also, Steve Currie (the bass player) gave one of my favourite quotes regarding his years in T. Rex.  " I didn't make a fortune, but what price can you put on job satisfaction?"

my not buying any more books is going well (not)

I really need to read the books l've already got, not buy even more.  The again, l'm off work for a few days and idle hands......

vaccinations work - the polio downturn

When l was kid, everyone knew someone who had polio, and l still know older people now who still suffer from the after effects of catching it. As measles outbreaks break out and children ultimately die needlessly because of lack of vaccinations (or not taking Paracetamol), remember this Trump administration need to be held to account.

charles m shultz knows what a true american is

I loved the Charles M Shultz 'Peanuts' books staring Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus etc when l was a kid (many years ago|), and this letter from 1970 makes me respect Mr Shultz even more. Proper American virtues, unlike the dangerous clown and his sycophants that are currently in office.

bastard texas wolf spiders

I've actually already been to Texas, but if l'd known this in advance, l may well have given it a miss. Bastard spiders!! And these sort are the worst bastards of them all!!!

nigel farage - l have no idea re medicines

'When it comes to science I don’t side with anybody. It’s never settled'. What a load of crap. He won't be sprouting this sort of shite when he falls ill and requires an operation and medication. Trump copying, Russian and right winged money taking hate stirring corrupt gobshite.

the brookside / hollyoaks mashup starring barry grant as my uncle ray

Filming has been underway with original members of Channel 4's Brookside appearing alongside Hollyoaks in some upcoming episodes. All well and good, as l used to love Brookside many years ago, but l'm a bit perturbed that the once cool bad boy Barry Grant (on the left) has now turned into my uncle Ray. Must be a genetic Liverpool thing, but praise the lord l've been spared.

Toodle pip

trump and autism - release the epstein files!

Another distraction from Trump, but you have to ask yourself what he is gaining from this.  Shares in another product? Blaming women for their Autistic children? Either way, it's dangerous advice, and release the Epstein files!

Toodle pip

the macrons offering scientific evidence

Really?  Has it come to this? I wouldn't give the conspiracy theorists the time of day, and let's face it, whatever evidence or results get released can easily just be rebuked as fake, so you can never win these type of arguments.

the rapture is today - even the cats know

As some insane people (especially in America) think The Rapture is going to happen today, l once again despair at where the world is heading, as it's obviously far out religious nonsense. Then l spotted these cats on the beach holding a prayer meeting and preparing for it, so naturally l've changed my mind and bought myself a cross to try and sneak in undetected at the last minute. Heaven here l come!*

* Not the gay nightclub in Liverpool, although l have had some great times in there.

whitney k in leeds

A splendid evening was had on Sunday night in Leeds, watching the rather marvelous Whitney K. I never got to see The Velvet Underground in their prime, but this was as close as l'll ever get (sound wise). I also bought the new album from them afterwards and got them to draw cartoons on it as well as signing it. I know l'm a very sad individual, but a fine very result. Catch them if you can.

l really need to sort out the kitchen

I've been (very slowly) sorting out books, DVDs and CDs, with the result my kitchen has been getting fuller every day with boxes which are to go to the garage. Some will go back on shelves but l'm moving bookcases as well so it's a long job, especially as l'm so lazy and will put it off indefinitely. Fire risk? Pah!

jimmy kimell has returned! alexa - show me an example of a two faced corporation

Back from the pub to find out this great news. Of course this has nothing to do with the worldwide backlash and cancelling of subscriptions to Disney. I hope he now uses his platform and power to take the piss out of Disney. I'd be 100% behind him, and he'll be a beacon of light in this very dark world. Fingers and toes crossed.

byline times on tommy robinson's far right ties

If he's a journalist, l'm a banana. Anyway, the Byline Times stuff is below.

As little Timmy Ten Names Robinson faces jail again (fingers crossed!), here's an excellent investigation by the Byline Times on his far right backers and influencers. It's a year or so old, but still very relevant. 'Highlights' are below, but it's well worth reading the full (depressing) article here.

john peels 40th birthday shows (again)

I've put this on here before, but John Peel's shows to mark his 40th Birthday highlighted some of the best music l'd ever heard at that time, with some great tunes l'd never heard before (Mick Hart's 'Almost Liverpool 8' for one). Luckily l recorded it and later on put it onto a CD, but it's also now on Spotify. A great eclectic selection as you'd expect. The listing of the songs are not in the order they were played.
