I'm loathe to admit it, but this is a very good idea by Reform, and l think they will sell lots of these kits. At least now l will be able to spot the right wing racists from a distance.

Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia

What a waste of time and a further distraction from the Epstein files. Putin is not conceding anything, and has definitely got some kind of hold over Trump, apart from the fact Trump admires 'strong men', who the general public class as dictators. Once again Trump talked a good fight beforehand, and backed down on everything, including sanctions. Let's face it, any right thinking person knows he is on Putin's side, and is undermining and trying to destroy democracy both in the United States, and Europe. Don't believe anything he says, and release the Epstein files.
The new season is starting and as usual, l'm a mixture of being a very positive person regarding life in general, and a very pessimistic person regarding Manchester United's fortunes. Of course you have to support your team through thick and thin, and they have actually made some decent signings. Do l think they have a chance of winning the League? Frankly, not a chance in hell. On the other hand, that hasn't prevented me from putting a £10 bet on them to do so, just in case (and for bragging rights if they do). As usual, it's the hope that kills you, but l can't wait for Sunday afternoon's game against Arsenal. Luckily l have Monday off to recover and dry my tears.

Mr Parrot is still not well and l've had to take him to the exotic pet service for treatment and medication. Luckily he wasn't struggling due to being unwell, but he's a pitiful sight at the moment. Fingers crossed for a recovery, as l love the grumpy little boy.

I've just watched the second show of the new South Park series, and they are certainly still not pulling any punches. It's just such a shame that the majority of news outlets and broadcasters are not holding the Trump administration to account as much as the satirists are. It'll be interesting to see how long they can keep this up.
I used to love the mighty Status Quo back in the day, and although l wasn't that bothered about going to see them when they reformed, it was great that they did before the grim reaper started taking his toll. The reason for this information sharing is I only saw these pictures for the first time the other day, and l must admit it gave me a pining for the past, and a warm feeling (and no - l hadn't wet myself).

Never be a grass. Especially for £1. You never know how other people may be struggling, and l'm speaking as a person who has a brother who works in store security.
Toodle pipNow this is impressive, and once again with a lot of these great ideas, it makes you think "I could have thought of that" but of course, you haven't, and probably never would. Simple seeming ideas in art or music are not as easy as they seem, otherwise we'd all have written 'Yesterday' and suchlike. And l'd be a lot richer.
Toodle pipWhat glorious memories a back page like this brings up, even though l never sent away for anything.

While reading various views about Palestine Action on The Afterword site this morning, this one by Mike H resonated. More views are here. Also the Plasticine Action shirt is excellent.
Oh l say missus! I don't know how they get away with it. Polluting the minds of our children etc.

It's a shame the Concordes ceased to be, as they were supersonically fast and very cheap to maintain, as they would get together each August (Mating season) and produce offspring for the following years travel needs.

I've been a fan of Dexy's Midnight Runners and all the variations of them, plus Kevin Rowland's solo releases for many years, and l can tell you now, all the praise for this autobiography is more than justified. It's unflinchingly honest and superb. Much better than l could have hoped for. I also agree with his statement about The Labour Party. Get your copy now.
Another day, another atrocity. 'One of them works for Hamas' my arse. As Henry Mance states, proportionality has gone out of the window, but it's the only way Israel can continue to justify the bombing of what is left in Gaza. The reasoning l use when describing these actions when arguing my case for the majority of Palestinians, is Britain didn't relentlessly bomb and try to ethnically clean Ireland when the IRA were detonating explosives on our mainland on a regular basis, as that too would not have been a proportional response. Stop arming them for a start!

So the Palestine Action Support situation is going to get a lot worse and more troublesome for Labour, who at some stage are going to have to backtrack. I'd suggest going down the route that the law have deemed the protesters not to be terrorists, and although we (ie Labour) want to clamp down, we can't. Some losing face to the courts, but better than what is currently happening, which is inexplicable in it's misguidedness (see also my earlier post on the matter).

A really good article by Liam Thorpe in today's Liverpool Echo regarding the booing of the national anthem and the shouting by Crystal Palace fans during a minutes silence at yesterday's Charity Shield game. I (as any sensible person should) agree that they are completely different. One is expressing an ongoing dislike and distrust that Liverpool hold for the rest of the country, especially when run by the Tories (with good reason), and the other is ruining a show of respect for two people who sadly lost their lives and where football rivalries should be put aside to honour the dead. The article is here.
