Mr Parrot has been unwell the last few day although he is a lot better than he was on Friday, when l thought he was going to die. He's currently on loads of vitamins and should hopefully be in better condition than me soon, but he is 45 years old and l suppose life may finally be catching up with him, as the average African Grey lifespan is between 40 and 60. Even my breakfast is upset about the situation.

fancy living in boscombe?
I do if l'm transported back to 1972, although l'd have a night off when Uriah Heep were in town.

trump on the white house - where's derek and clive when you need them?
Trump on The White House. In the immortal words of Derek and Clive - 'Jump you fucker, jump'.
And it hasn't taken long for people to adjust the pictures to how they should look.

space age house for sale
Now this is why l need to win the lottery, as l haven't got a spare 1.45 million Euros lying around. A space age house outside Paris with plenty of space and no neighbours. Bit concerned there may be lots of spiders, but l'd take the risk. Info is here.
we've survived the civil war
Phew! The day is nearly over and we've survived the Grok predicted start of the Civil War. I can rest easy in my bed tonight.
Also - it's not authorities that need to de-escalate, it's the right wing press and Reform / Tommy Robinson type knobheads.

whitney k back on tour
Some excellent news as l've just discovered Whitney K is touring again and has an upcoming new album. Snagged 4 tickets for the Leeds gig and to put the icing on the cake a mate is going to do the driving. Highly recommended if you're into Lou Redd and The Velvet Underground (like any sane person should be), and the venue is tiny, which makes for a much better experience.
Toodle pipAI will fix everything cartoon
How l feel watching the news and the rise of the far right, Reform and the daily dose of Trump's madness. I'm looking forward to what AI can achieve in the very near future, but it will also create a lot of unemployment, which will need to be addressed in some way. Still, l can always just lock myself away from the upcoming madness and listen to records and read.

the back garden view last night
Living out next to the countryside has got it's advantages. Last night's view from the back garden, while waiting for the storm to hit.

man charged after suspected poisoning of children
That's funny (but not unexpected). I don't see Tommy Robinson / Reform / Nigel Farage and the rest of the baying mob kicking off and starting riots to 'protect the kids' when this story broke. Now imagine if he had been foreign or black. Two Tier priorities.

elon musk's not that bright after all (or just a twat)
Call me a cynical old fool, but l would imagine the worlds richest man could end world hunger tomorrow if he actually was bothered about doing so and not even notice the drop in his finances, rather than relying on AI and robotics at some time in the future. Performative nonsense.

l should have patented my hairstyle (and colour)
So the youngsters want to look like me do they. That's fine and dandy - l can live with that, after all, l'm a man of style and taste.
one of my holly grails - welcome to new york (the rolling stones) - plus t. rex
I've already got this Rolling Stones bootleg album on vinyl with a pink slip cover, and on CD with this William Stout cover, but as l'm also a sad git, l've been looking for a decent white William Stout cover copy on vinyl on and off for years. And it arrived a couple of days ago. Over the moon la.
Also, when messaging the seller (Michael) he made me extremely jealous with tales his first two gigs. The Rolling Stones and then T. Rex, both Liverpool 1971 when he was 12. I'm greener than The Hulk with envy. His T. Rex ticket (only 60p!) is below.
cold war steve - terrorism / not terrorism
Pretty much sums up the current situation. If Palestine Action are terrorists, l'm a banana.

manchester united unveil another new goalkeeper
As the new football season edges nearer, Manchester United unveil another goalkeeper. As usual l'm looking forward to the season, but with a heavy dose of trepidation. Then again, you've got to support your team though the good and bad, and at least they didn't get relegated. How hopes, dreams and times have changed since Fergie left. I won't see those glory years repeated, that's for sure, but at least l was aware of how fantastic and unusual it was at the time, and savoured every moment, especially the treble year.
wednesday's pub outfit is sorted
It's Wednesday afternoon, which means it's time for our meet up at the local. At least l've got my outfit sorted, and I'm sure the lads will be impressed.

release the epstein files part 64564665 (and start arresting people)
Remember.....as Ghislaine Maxwell probably cuts a deal to be freed / pardoned by agreeing to exonerate Trump, there's still this. One law for the rich (and powerful) etc.

malcom macdowell and t.rex crossover
Two of my favourite films, and both featuring glimpses of Marc Bolan / T. Rex, my first musical love. Malcom MacDowell starring in 'O Lucky Man' and 'A Clockwork Orange'. Both films that certainly leave a lasting impression, and not necessarily a pleasant one. Still fab though.

trump's name may have been planted in the epstein files
I didn't even see this defence coming! It would be laughable if it wasn't so tragic and corrupt. Don't forget it was only about a week ago when they were saying there were no files. Release them now!

darlington record fair misshap
Bugger! I went through to Darlington earlier today for the record fair, and despite texting a couple of mates the date, and looking at the poster beforehand, l still went a week early as it's not on till the 2nd August!. I need help (in more ways than one).
Still managed to buy 16 second hand records in town though, although they only cost me £35.

slimming world leaflet
Some cheeky sod has shoved this through my letterbox (Fnaaar). Cheeky sods - are they trying to hint l need to change? I think it's too late for that now. Saying that, it could be from one of my so called mates taking the piss. I wouldn't put it past them.

musicstack will be the ruin of me
Bugger! I've just discovered MusicStack and it is going to bankrupt me. I only went onto it yesterday and l'm already amassing the orders. This is alongside eBay, Amazon and record fairs (another one on Saturday). At this rate l'll have to start doing overtime to feed myself, although l'm currently playing Dexys 'The Feminine Divine' and records are worth every penny.
