For some strange reason there's not much reporting in the press about the massive settlement and apology to Prince Harry and his mother.
Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia

barney ronay on manchester city
This made me laugh, and it's good to know United aren't the only team in Manchester playing crap.

nigel farage talking more crap
A great response to Nigel Farage here, as he once again tries to weaponize the tragedy in Southport for his own political gain

Laika the dog with the one way ticket to space
Laika, the stray Russian dog that went on a one way mission to space on November 3rd 1957 - the first living creature from Earth to do so. What a sad couple of photos (and yes, Laika died shortly after take-off from Hyperthermia.
the latest mot was kind of expensive
I guess this is what you have to do when you've got an old car. I knew it needed some work (including welding) and had expected anything up to £1,000 so in my tiny mind, I've saved £300 and am happy to be reunited with my car. Result!

elon musk knows what he's doing
Of course Elon Musk knows the difference between a Nazi salute and giving out love. The below two pictures are actually from videos playing at the same time, but you get the meaning from the photos in isolation. He openly supports right wing fascist parties and tries to overthrow democracy. A very dangerous man with lots of hang-ups and issues.

rolling stone magazine hit the nail on the head
Rolling Stone magazine echo what l have said in the past and still believe. Donald Trump should currently be in jail, and the USA legal system, big money lawyers, sycophantic GOP members and tech CEO's are mostly responsible, although the Democratic party should have got their act together and defeated him.

stephen pearson's 'wings of love'
Until l saw this picture the other day l hadn't given it a thought for years and had pretty much forgotten about it, but back in the distant past it used to be very, very popular. Stephen Pearson's 'Wings of Love'. A mixture of the erotic, romantic and religious, and no, l did not own a copy.

poor 1977 reporting around lee wallace the pirate
Very poor reporting here in this 1977 article by someone who does not understand music. It's not illegal to own unauthorised music, and they can't even spell Led Zeppelin correctly. This sort of stuff annoys me much more than it should.

t.rex boss the record mirror readers poll
Despite the fact that l love Marc Bolan and most things T. Rex related, Dandy in the Underworld was nowhere near the top album in 1977, and Bolan should not have achieved these results. Obviously his recent death triggered happy memories of him and his music, and reminded people (myself included) how pivotal he had been in their lives, thus explaining the sympathy votes.

the donald trump dictatorship is already in full swing
So Jack Smith states that Donald Trump would have been found guilty regarding the insurrection charges around the storming of The White House to overturn his electoral defeat, but can't be prosecuted because he is the USA President (to be). This case should have been enacted years ago, and is a failure of the American legal system. As Trump will have his many mealy mouthed cowardly supporters in the senate and congress, in the judicial system, and is being backed by rich social media lickspittles so he will have most of the media and internet on his side, what is going to stop him staying in power, and ignoring future election results that don't go his way (if they take place at all). It's a bad time for democracy and the rise of the far right round the world. No wonder l drink.

the germans talk sense
If you ignore the rise of the far right AFD party in Germany, the Germans actually have a lot of common sense, and l love the place. Despite Klopp being an ex Liverpool manager, l respect him as well.

white wine, baileys, and the velvet underground
After l got home last night l continued the celebrations from the football by staying up listening to The Velvet Underground on repeat till 08:00, while drinking a mixture of white wine and baileys. I also ended up knocking my wine glass over, cutting my hand picking up the pieces, and discovering l'd missed a bit of blood on the floor cleaning up. Who says rock and roll behaviour is dead?

the wintery walk home
One hell of a walk home from the pub tonight after the Manchester United win against Arsenal, but well worth it. Roll on summer - winter is way overrated.

the 'new' deadpool calendar
As l needed a new calendar, l went on Amazon and bought what l thought was a really cheap Deadpool one. When it arrived, l realised l hadn't been paying attention, as it was from 2023. Bugger! Say no to ordering stuff while drinking red wine.

tits get a kicking
Damn! This started off so well, and is much better in the video, but l don't know how to transfer that to the blog (and can't be bothered learning how to). The trouble is, despite knowing how it ends, the first picture still looks so real.

liz truss crashing the economy
But you did crash it you fuckwit, and your main economic defence is from Andrew Lilico? From your bankrolling buddies at the right wing Institute of Economic Affairs? This would be hilarious if l didn't suspect she may be suffering from some mental disorder.

the la wildfires and decent pay for workers
The wildfires in Los Angles look pretty ferocious, and there are a lot of people currently losing there homes, but at the risk of scoring cheap political points around this, l hope people remember these sort of events when firefighters / police / health workers etc are asking for decent pay, but l'm sure that won't be the case, despite being prepared to pay any amount when desperate. Remember, without the everyday workers in our society, everyone is buggered.

my grandads brother was once a star
I think l've put this up before, but never mind. Amongst old items from my grandfather after he die was these scraps, featuring his brother winning a singing competition at Los Angeles Hippodrome, featured in the News of the World. It was the first any of us new about it as we never knew his brother, so assume he must have lived in America. I will have to delve further, as l am now intrigued.
