We were sold a lie.
Never vote Tory.

Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia
I loved The Smiths but am not so bothered about a lot of Morrissey's solo output (and some of his views), but using this artwork was a simple yet genius idea. Based on the iconic Marc Bolan and T.Rex singles.
This is surely taking the piss from Robbie Fowler as a Liverpool fan and ex player. There's no way in the world l would want Jose Mourinho back as manager. I'd rather have Steve Bruce!

From Thank Your Lucky Stars between the rehearsal and performance. May 12th 1963. I love this sort of crap!

If there's not already enough reasons to love Liverpool, here's someone who looks to be naked, apart from being in a suitcase, outside Everton's new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, just down the road from where l used to live.
Perhaps it's a very poor re-make of this.

This shows, that even with a supposedly simple act such as writing a letter, talent and imagination can shine on through. as demonstrated here by John Steinbeck, asking a favour of Marilyn Monroe. Even if l had never heard of him before (obviously l've read his books), this would make me want to go and investigate them.

Years ago, this is the sort of gig l would have gone to, just to experience it and see what the fuss is about. Those days are now long gone, as ticket prices have gone insane, and there's no way a casual or possible would be fan such as myself will attend, but as long as people pay these prices, it will only get worse.

Another Conservative MP defects to Labour. My problem with this is they were happy enough to back the Conservatives for years, and know their time in power is coming to an end, and now want to cling on to a job. I wouldn't trust any of them.
Err....As Rishi Sunak and the batshit crazy Conservative party look to recover from their disastrous election results, there's pressure from evil Suella Braverman and others to head further to the right. I certainly don't want them in power, but any fool should be able to read the room and realise it's their lurch to the right that is losing them so many votes. If they were more centrist and moderate without trying to focus on idiotic ideologies such s the Rwanda scheme, they would probably not have lost so many of (to them) decent supporters. The thing is, l can see taking that course, and it's been slowly happening over the last few years.
Never vote for them though.

Er....The Democrats do not believe in this or practise it. Donald Trump is a lying fucker who will say anything that appeals to his voter core, no matter how nasty or deranged.
Never vote Republican.
And a reminder that political talk and actions can quickly escalate to full on violence, which is rather fitting with the current student protests. A nation with the wrong people in control will soon stamp down on those that don't agree with them

There's nothing like a Wetherspoons to cheer you up first thing in the morning (not). Here's the recent handwritten lyrics of a new song by Babybird named after that very establishment to cheer you up even more!.

This is how l imagined my home life would be by now.
This made me laugh, despite the fact it's kind of true.
I still won't be able to sleep tonight after looking at it.
Toodle pipSome highlights from the local election results. I voted Green Party for the new York mayor as he's a mate and does a lot for the community, but l thought Labour would win it easily and was proven correct, and as a Labour supporter, it's been pretty good results wise.
Following on from the previous post, here's more Batman and Robin / Velvet Underground crossover madness. This time Batman and Robin are played by Lou Reed and John Cale.

Here's where two cool pop culture icons of the 1960's overlap. Batman and Robin, here featuring Andy Warhol and Nico, both looking pretty dashing. What an inspired photoshoot.
Another reminder that when Cliff and Norm were in Cheers as two washed up sad old blokes, they actually looked old and past it. Reader, they were aged 33 and 34 at the time. Still mere youngsters.
Watching a YouTube video about records (as l am wont to do) l realise l am a sad old bastard watching other sad old bastards talking about niche interests. However, it's getting bad when they dress like me, as l have often worn this very combination of open shirt and t-shirt, and l mean the exact items. The t-shirt I bought in New York at a store called Evolution, and l still wear it. Mind you, I still have my hair, and don't wear a hat or glasses, so l suppose that's still something.
I also wouldn't mind the framed John Lennon photograph (by Richard Avedon), although l still prefer his psychedelic one of John with glasses.
