Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia

Back to the politics to keep my mind off football. If only l could be as optimistic and proud as Therese Coffey.
Toodle pipBeaten 0 -3 by Manchester City on Sunday and then again by Newcastle United tonight, and playing some pretty rubbish football in the process. Manchester United are looking pretty lost at the moment.

At first I never recognised Kenny Everett in this photograph from 1967. Loved his shows way back in the day.
Thoroughly enjoyed this Mark Lanegan book, and a main part of the appeal is the honesty about his addictions. Also safe to say he wasn't a fan of Liam Gallagher.

Another paid job for the liar. This time though he'll feel at home, as the station lies constantly.

I loved the first few Queen albums, but rapidly lost interest with Hot Space onwards (and plenty of interest just before that album). However, even l may not have recognised the young Brian May from this photograph. he's like a young Salvador Dali.

This - Exactly.
Once again, Rishi Sunak and The Conservatives show where their alliances lie.

For all of us of a certain age who grew up knowing the magnificence of Muhammad Ali, both as a boxer and a human being, this is a very poignant photograph.
The Greatest.
Donald Trump getting so annoyed with this post still makes me chuckle every time l see it. Hilarious stuff, and the fact that he is so annoyed about it just makes it sweeter and funnier.
I did pretty well on my Sky Super 6 predictions yesterday, but if l am correct that today's game is a draw, l will be pissed off, as yesterday was the first time l seriously thought about putting some money on a correct results accumulator, so in a way, l want to be wrong with today's result / game outcome.

Bloody hell! I've just watching an old episode of Family Guy when l spotted some subliminal anti-semetic placement#. Who knew this was going on? Certainly not me, and l won't be watching the show again.# Bastards! The show should be cancelled (again) and all early episodes destroyed.
# It's the octopus
# I will be watching it again, and l'm not anti-semitic

Damn!! I've still got a couple of these shirts left that l bought many years ago in New York that have been worn a lot, but was looking for a newer version. Now wish l had bought a load of them at the time and stashed them away unused, like l do with lots of stuff, as they are now 'vintage', and fetching high prices, even in crappy condition. Maybe it's also time l stopped wearing the ones l have already and stash them away for future investment. Then again - life's too short (as Keith Harling himself found out), and l still like wearing them, so that's not going to happen.

Our glorious future leader Penny Mordaunt would be so proud (not). Jeremy Hunt decides standing up to fight isn't such a good idea after all.

It only seems like yesterday when these two little cherubs (my sister's children) were youngsters. In my eyes they stall are, but one now has two children, and the other has just messaged me to say she has got engaged while on holiday in Rhodes. Time certainly flies (as does The Great Pumpkin).

Despite the fact there has been hardly any mainstream coverage of it, the Covid Enquiry continues, and it is all much worse than expected, despite very low expectations of the Government at the time. Remember - Italy was a few weeks ahead of us and we could see what was happening, so there should be no excuses. It will also be even worse if we ever get to see Boris Johnson's WhatsApp messages (or Rishi Sunak's).
Toodle pipHeard the sad news that cartoonist Tony Husband has died. This one of his is one of my favourites.
