Our glorious future leader Penny Mordaunt would be so proud (not). Jeremy Hunt decides standing up to fight isn't such a good idea after all.

Booze, news and views from a drunken opinionated fool who can't spell very well, may well repeat himself, and can't blame it on dislexia

It only seems like yesterday when these two little cherubs (my sister's children) were youngsters. In my eyes they stall are, but one now has two children, and the other has just messaged me to say she has got engaged while on holiday in Rhodes. Time certainly flies (as does The Great Pumpkin).

Despite the fact there has been hardly any mainstream coverage of it, the Covid Enquiry continues, and it is all much worse than expected, despite very low expectations of the Government at the time. Remember - Italy was a few weeks ahead of us and we could see what was happening, so there should be no excuses. It will also be even worse if we ever get to see Boris Johnson's WhatsApp messages (or Rishi Sunak's).
Toodle pipHeard the sad news that cartoonist Tony Husband has died. This one of his is one of my favourites.
Andrew Cooper, the Conservative candidate for the upcoming Tamworth by election, has posted this. Basically, if you are not working (which let's face it, could be for any reason), and can't afford to feed your children, you can 'fuck off'. The caring face of The Conservatives shown yet again, while Rishi Sunak has refused to condemn it, and his spokesman has said it shows the Conservatives are on the side of working families.

At last!!! I agree with Donald Trump!!! In a Universe that's full of infinite possibilities, I knew it would eventually happen one day.
I'm sure if l was behaving like this at work, l wouldn't still be in my job, but it's par for the course for The Conservatives.
Never vote Tory.
This is a very poor question from a supposed news presenter. Downright racist to my cloth ears.
If this had been me, l would certainly not have been looking at a suspended sentence, as l'd now be in jail. It's one law for the rich, and another for poor sods like myself, and when it comes to fraud and deception, l know what l am talking about (for a change).
Well worth the price of admission back in the day. It's uncanny how much they resemble the real Beatles, especially George and Ringo.
Lisa Cameron, defecting from the SNP to the Conservatives. Who in Gods name would look at the shitshow of the last 13 years and think 'That's the party l want to join?'
Come on! It's only a bit of light drizzle! Get the game started. If this doesn't provide guaranteed entertainment, l don't know what will.
Not that l'm one to talk, but l think this Manchester United red devil has been over indulging itself.
I don't know why NASA and other space agencies spend so much time and money on space photography. This was a piece of piss (and cheap too).
As a lover of Tony Hancock and the Hancock's Half Hour radio show in particular, l'm very excited about this.
In other possibly related news, I'm a very sad old man
Went to make a sandwich earlier and luckily l was sober, as it looks like my pickled beetroot (Ooer Matron) is a bit off. I foolishly thought it lasted pretty much forever.
Switched on the computer and then had to sit through this, which obviously takes ages.
Very, very annoying
I'm not afraid of heights, but l'm not sure about this. That's what you call squeaky bum time.
Paul McCartney looking fab on the cover of Time Out magazine in 1984, when they were asking if he was still relevant.
Reader....He was 42. How times have changed.
I stayed over at my friends house in Nunthorpe on Saturday night. A fine time was had by all, and it was good that we had Professor Daisy with us to sort out any arguments and fact check.

Christ on a bike - over 40 years ago! One Hell of a night, and only £3 (or pay on the door).
Those days have long gone.
Obviously l'm a fan of his early experimental stuff, before the general public discovered him.
Despite not being interested in fishing, I've loved the 'Gone Fishing' programme with Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse, as it is mainly about friendship, getting older, and life in general. One of the other joys was the inspired soundtrack. Featuring lots of songs l already loved, but plenty l had not heard before, many of which were gems waiting to be discovered.
Here it is in full (From Here).
Could turn out to be true, but l don't know why he's looking so unhappy in the final frame.
Sounds idyllic in many ways but there would have to be a lot of reading material as well.
Obviously l love my local pub (The Wine Bar / Hunters, Catterick) and have been going there for years, but even after all of those years, the top picture is what l hope will be waiting for me when l stroll nonchalantly through the doors. Unfortunately for me, the reality is more like the second picture.
Hasn't put me off though, and a man can still dream!
