nme advice re david bowie and his tight pants

From the NME, Feb 10th 1972. If this doesn't make you want to pop out and catch David Bowie, nothing will. Just before he went supernova, and probably at the Toby Jug, not The Fox. 'Gaze at his skin tight pants'. A throwback to Epstein seeing The Beatles at The Cavern? (or Leggy Mountbatten and The Rutles). Small venues and interesting acts - l'm all for them (as well as tight pants).

reform using the donald trump fascist playbook

Let's be clear here. Reform asked if a Reform MP (Sarah Pochin) could come to debate and Bangor University said no. A deliberate ploy to stoke up outrage and issue the type of threats any Fascist government would be proud of. Never vote Reform, who are without any shred of doubt racist, transphobic and homophobic.

when queen were great - the 'now l'm here' adverts

I saw Queen many times back in the day, and this is a period when they were magnificent. 'Now l'm Here' just released as a single, and the 'Sheer Heart Attack' album getting heavy rotation in my household, helping e cope with the demise of Glam. What a time to be alive

Another scandal that will raise it's ugly head soon. Peter Thiel and Palantir should be nowhere near our national security databases.

'illegal' migrants

When are Labour going to wake up and stop pandering to the right? Just call them migrants (or unprocessed migrants) FFS, as 'illegals' just spreads the hateful rhetoric and fuels the Reform mob. Right leaning voters will bugger of to right wing parties, and this kind of language just pisses off and disenfranchises people on the left.

walk hard - the dwarf version

A mate was raving about this spoof music documentary that l'd never seen, so l ordered the DVD. I foolishly ordered a  format l couldn't play, so ordered a normal one. When discussing it before the normal one arrived, l mentioned the 'dwarf' on the cover (or whatever the correct terminology is these days), and was rightly mocked, as it most certainly isn't, but in my defence l still maintain it looks like it could be. It was worth the wait, as it's a pretty good spoof.

boys from the liverpool slums 1956 by thurston hopkins

Thurston Hopkins took this (and other) photographs for a feature about Liverpool slums in 1956 for The Picture Post that were not published at the time, as city politicians thought it would give a bad impression of the city. I think the lads look pretty smart considering how poor they probably were, and a short time before then, their forefathers would probably have been walking around barefooted. They could also be mates of my uncle Ray.

With thanxs to Colin Smith.

And here's some more from the same series.

trump's racist obama post - an update

So The White House are now saying 'a staffer' did it and Karoline Leavitt thinks we should move along and stop the 'fake' outrage as it does not matter to the American public, and it has been deleted. But without an apology. Does it not occur to them that they are admitting (if this was true) that staffers are impersonating the president on his official feed and sending inflammatory racist posts about ex presidents, and if they are doing so, how other posts have they made, presumably without clearance, and how many security breaches are being flouted with these actions? I call (as usual when Trump is involved) bullshit.

another low for trump - the racist obama post

As everyone has suspected, Donald Trump is a racist as well as a kiddie shagger. You always foolishly think he can't go lower, but he does. This alone should get him impeached and once again, people and organisations need to stand up against this, unless they want to be known to be complicit in the overthrow of democracy in America by a nasty, vindictive, racist child rapist, and l include former Republican presidents, as this is more important than party politics. I hope Trump is also crapping himself more than usual after the Clintons said they are prepared to give testimony to Congress regarding The Epstein Files live on TV.
