when waving goes wrong
This made me laugh because it's pretty funny, but rather sadly, l can also really relate to it.

wayne hussey - heady daze (the mission years 1985-1990)
As a big fan of The Mission back in these years, l thought this book would be of interest to me, and l wasn't wrong. Plenty of sex, drugs, and rock and roll involved, so what's not to like? Also, Mr Huss is a fine storyteller (from what he remembers) and obviously bright, interested in other things apart from music, and l really liked his writing style. If you like The Mission, this comes highly recommended.
I wasn't that bothered before about reading his previous book (Salad Days),but after reading this, l'm going to give it a go. I shall report back at some stage on that.
It could have done with some proofreading though.

the latest pile of second hand records
The latest haul of second hand records from Tuesday. A couple l've got already (Glen Campbell and The Blues Band), but these are better copies. I definitely need a bigger house (or to see a psychiatrist).

I put this piece by Andrew Collins on the blog 10 years ago. Things have only become worse since then.
Full article by Andrew is here.
report of stuart sutcliffe's death
Stuart Sutcliffe's death reported in the days when The Beatles were so unknown they were just referred to as a Liverpool skiffle group, and not named.

fiona cummins - when l was ten
This is one of the the books l recently purchased from the charity shop. Fiona Cummins 'When l was Ten', and a signed copy at that. Now l'm not singling her out, as a lot of other authors do the same, but if you're going to sign books, at least make an effort and make it more than a scribble. I understand it's time consuming and must be pretty boring, but come on!

keef buys his new house
When Keith Richards bought Redlands, the scene of the infamous drugs bust (and fire). As far as l know, he still owns it. It looks great, but l bet there's loads of spiders.

I lived here a few years and it's certainly been done up and improved since. Trust me - it wasn't like this when l was living there.

TREX cooking
The TREXtasy one is from 1937, but the top advert was familiar to anyone around in the 1970's.
I can't comment on what it was like to cook with this stuff, but the T.Rex band sure meant a hell of a lot more to me.

rwanda trips booked
I will make this easy for everyone. The landlord and wife are racist, and our Home Secretary, despite the fact she is black, is supporting them, because she is currently stirring up as much racial hatred as she can, to polarise and deflect.
Send all three to Rwanda, and never vote Tory.

meanwhile, in south west norfolk
This fucking country. We're talking about Liz Truss here, the woman who broke the economy, and after 13 years of the Tories wrecking everything. What more do the fuckers have to do to stop these twats voting for them? It's just as bad in Richmondshire (where l live), a safe seat for Rishi Sunak. No wonder politics annoys me.
